1. What QuoteDesk Is
QuoteDesk (quotedesk.ca) connects journalists working for Canadian audiences with experts based in Canada. Journalists post requests for sources; experts send pitches through the site. These terms apply to everyone who uses it. By registering you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
QuoteDesk is a service of DBR Media, Ontario, Canada. Questions about these terms go to hello@quotedesk.ca. Last updated October 2026.
2. Journalists
Journalist accounts are for staff and freelance journalists, producers, podcasters and student journalists working on editorial content. We verify accounts by work email, bylines or school email and may ask for more before approving. Requests must be for real editorial work: advertising, sponsored content, paid placement and link building are not allowed and lead to the account being closed.
Posting is free. You choose a pitch cap and a deadline for each request; the request closes at whichever comes first. Pitches are delivered to you through QuoteDesk and you decide whom to contact. We may edit a request for clarity or remove one that breaks these terms. Your contact details are not shown to experts until you contact them.
3. Experts And Pitches
Expert accounts are for people based in Canada with first-hand knowledge of the beats they choose. Your profile must be accurate, including your name, credentials and province. Pitch only on requests open to your province, answer the questions asked, and write the pitch yourself; machine-written, off-topic or promotional pitches are removed and repeat offenders lose access.
Pitching is free during the beta. When paid plans open, their price and what they include will be shown before you choose one, and you can cancel any time; a paid plan buys faster access and more pitches, never a place in a story. Your pitch is sent only to the journalist who posted the request.
4. Accounts, Content And Liability
You are responsible for what you post and for keeping your login private. You keep the rights to your requests and pitches and give QuoteDesk permission to show them to the people they are addressed to and to operate the service. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and you may delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
QuoteDesk introduces journalists and experts; it is not a party to what they agree afterwards and does not guarantee that a request gets pitches or that a pitch leads to coverage. The service is provided as is, and our liability to you is limited to any amount you paid us in the previous twelve months. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. We may update them and will post the date of the latest change here.
