Post A Request Register As A Journalist
From Request To Interview
- Post. One line on who you need, your questions, the beat, the province, the format and your deadline. About two minutes.
- It goes out. Once approved, your request reaches experts who chose that beat and province in the next morning email.
- Screened pitches arrive. Each pitch comes from an expert based where you asked, answers your questions and is written by a person.
- It closes. At your pitch cap or your deadline, whichever comes first. Experts see it is closed and stop.
What You Control
- ✓ Pitch cap. 5, 10, 15 or 25 pitches. The request closes itself when it is full.
- ✓ Province. Anywhere in Canada, or one province or territory.
- ✓ Format. Written answers, a phone call, a video call, in person, on the record or background only.
- ✓ Credentials. Ask for a designation (CPA, lawyer, physician) and say so in the request.
- ✓ Your contact details. Experts see your outlet and your request, not your email or phone, until you reply to them.
How We Verify You
- Work email or bylines. Staff journalists register with an outlet email. Freelancers add two recent bylines or a portfolio link to their profile.
- Students welcome. Journalism students register with a school email.
- No advertising or paid placement. Requests for sponsored content, paid listicles or link placements are removed and the account is closed.
New journalist accounts are checked by our editors, usually within one business day, before the first request goes out.
Questions Journalists Ask
Does it cost anything? No. Journalists never pay.
Can I post in French? Yes. Choose Quebec or Anywhere In Canada and write the request in French; it goes to French-speaking experts.
